Order of Canada appointments: Julia Gersovitz and Ron Williams

The new member list includes 3聽Companions (C.C.), 20 Officers (O.C.) and 82 Members (C.M.). 聽Julia Gersovitz (B.Arch. 1975) has been appointed an Officer and Ronald Franklin Williams (B.Arch. 1964) has been appointed a Member.聽 Gersovitz was cited for 鈥渉er contributions to heritage preservation in Canada and abroad as a respected conservation architect.鈥澛� Williams was cited for 鈥渉is significant contributions to our landscape architecture through his designs, teaching and publications.鈥�
Created in 1967, the Order of Canada, one of our country鈥檚 highest civilian honours, recognizes outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation. Close to 7聽000聽people from all sectors of society have been invested into the Order. Their contributions are varied, yet they have all enriched the lives of others and have taken to heart the motto of the Order: DESIDERANTES MELIOREM PATRIAM (鈥淭hey desire a better country鈥�).
