Alumni Association of Austria presents "Austrian-Canadian Society Charity Hockey Match"
The Austrian-Canadian Society invites you to a Charity Hockey
Match in Vienna.
The Austrian-Canadian Society is organizing its First Annual
Charity Hockey Game, to be played at the Albert Schultz Eishalle in
Vienna on November 6.
Players will compete in a friendly match - "gentlemen’s rules" -
followed by a reception and drinks. The fun will be for a good
cause, raising funds for the benefit of various projects in Canada
as well as initiatives of the Austrian-Canadian Society to promote
traditional Canadian sports, such as the "Hockey for Kids" program,
in a non-competitive and not-for-profit manner.
Invitations are being extended to members of Vienna’s diplomatic,
business and international organization communities.
Her Excellency Marie Gervais-Vidricaire, Canadian Ambassador to
Austria, has kindly agreed to drop the puck for the opening
face-off.
This is to invite you, and any hockey-playing colleagues and
friends to play in the match. Both male and female players are
welcome. From among the participants expressing interest, we will
assemble two full teams, who will face off in what promises to be
an enjoyable recreational game.
The suggested donation is € 200 per player, although contributions
in any amount are gratefully accepted. The donation goes to the
Austrian-Canadian Society to promote the above mentioned
initiatives and projects. Spectators are welcome and encouraged to
contribute a donation to this worthy cause.
All you need is your own full hockey protective gear, including
helmet and a hockey stick. Team sweaters will be provided.
Since game day is approaching fast, the Austrian-Canadian Society
kindly asks you to secure a place on a team by contacting
