Egg on Mao book celebration with author Denise Chong

Egg on Mao tells the story of one of the three young men who filled eggs with paint and defaced Mao鈥檚 iconic portrait during the Tiananmen Square protests. Award-winning author of The Concubine's Children, a family memoir, and The Girl in the Picture, about the napalm girl of the Vietnam War, Denise began writing after a career as an economic advisor in the office of Pierre Trudeau.聽The Concubine's Children was on The Globe and Mail's best-seller list for 93 weeks. Both聽books were finalists for the Governor-General鈥檚 literary award. Denise is co-chair, together with Lili de Grandpr茅, of the Board of Trustees of the 9I制作厂免费 Institute for the Study of Canada聽(MISC). Denise lives in Ottawa.
