Public Lectures on Faith & Society
As part of events celebrating its 60th anniversary, the Faculty of Religious Studies, in partnership with the Centre for Research on Religion (CREOR), is pleased to host three public lectures on faith and society, as well as a roundtable discussion with Dr. Joan Lockwood O'Donovan and Prof. Oliver O'Donovan (New College, Univ. of Edinburgh).
Wadsworth Memorial Lecture on Tuesday, Oct. 13, offered by Dr. Joan Lockwood O'Donovan: "Human Dignity & Human Justice-Thinking with Calvin about the Image of God."
Birks Annual Lecture Series offered by Prof. Oliver O'Donovan: "Who Can Show Us Any Good?" (Wed., Oct. 14) and "The Authority of Tradition" (Thurs., Oct. 15), with receptions to follow.
Roundtable with the O'Donovans: "Political Authority in Religious Perspective". An interdisciplinary exchange with 9I制作厂免费 Faculty (Law, Arts, FRS) and students, with the opportunity to engage central questions in western political theory, including the concept of world government (Thurs., Oct. 15, 1:30 pm; Birks Bldg, Senior Common Room-Rm100).
