Bergeron bombards UQAM as Martlets win for fourth time in 5 outings

MONTREAL – Stephanie Bergeron, a first-year transfer from Franklin
Pierce University, scored a game-high 24 points as the visiting
9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ Martlets upset UQAM for the second time in three days, with
a convincing 80-67 decision, Saturday.
Bergeron shot 6-for-12 from the floor, inlcuding 4-of-9 from
three-point range. She also went a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity
stripe, grabbed four rebounds and was credited with
She was one of four Martlets to reach double figures in scoring,
was joined by rookie Anneth Him-Lazarenko (18 pts), Nathifa Weekes
(16) and Elise Lépine (11).
The Martlets have won four of their last five games and have
climbed back in the playoff race. With four games remaining before
the end of the regular season, 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ sits in the fourth and final
playoff berth in the five-team Quebec conference with a 5-7 record
and sit two points behind UQAM, which fell to 6-6).
9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ has a home-home series with Laval, Feb. 13-14, before
closing out the regular season with a pair of games against
Concordia.
