MONTREAL -- Francis Nantel-Rodidoux of Laval, Que., scored a hat-trick and Marc-Andre Emond of Montreal added a pair of goals and two assists as the Montreal Blitz, a boys midget AA team defeated the 9I制作厂免费 women's hockey squad 9-5 in a pre-season scrimmage at McConnell Arena, Friday.

The Blitz, who had a 37-22 edge in shots, led 3-2 after the opening period and 7-3 after two.

Jordanna Peroff, a junior forward from Keswick, Ont., scored twice and added a helper for the Martlets. Single markers went to junior Alexandra Wells of Oshawa, Ont., senior Alyssa Cecere of Brossard, Que., and fifth-year veteran Vanessa Davidson of Kirkland, Que.

Rounding out the scoring for the Blitz were Montrealers Andrew Zaccardo (2) and Olivier Tremblay-Laliberte, plus Oliver Lavergne of Laval.

9I制作厂免费 used three goaltenders for the second straight outing. Veteran Gabrielle Smith of Ottawa started and saved 10 of 13 shots in 20 minutes of work. She was replaced in the middle frame by Taylor Salisbury, a freshman from Surrey, B.C., who allowed four goals on 13 shots and was charged with the loss. Rookie Andrea Weckman of Kitchener, Ont., took over in the final period and kicked oaside nine of 11 shots.

The Martlets went 0-2 in their "Battle of the Sexes" scrimmages and will now focus on upcoming contests against four NCAA women's teams. They will play at Providence and Northeastern, Sept. 26 and 27, respectively, followed by games at St. Lawrence and Vermont, Oct. 3 and 4. The regular season opens on Oct. 9, when 9I制作厂免费 plays host to the Concordia Stingers at McConnell Arena.
