MONTREAL – Marko Kovacevic, a native of Belgrade, Serbia, is the 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ athlete of the week for the period ending March 29, 2009.
The 6-foot-2, 218-pound forward was 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ’s leading scorer at the CIS national championship in Thunder Bay, Ont. Kovacevic, a 23-year-old management senior, scored twice and added an assist in 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ’s two games. He netted the game-winner in a 4-3 win over the Western Ontario Mustangs.
Kovacevic finished the season with 18 goals and 35 points in 39 games overall and will graduate with a career total of 46-46-92 in 150 contests at 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ. He joined the Redmen in 2005 out of St. Andrew’s College, after a stint with the OHL’s Sudbury Wolves.
