BCL/LLB (Law IV) student Claire Stockwell has been awarded one of ten 2008 Global Youth Fellowships from the Walter & Duncan Gordon Foundation. She was selected from over 140 applicants. This $20 000 fellowship will allow her to do research on the role that technology will play in securing a post-2012 climate deal as well as examine how a possible technology mechanism could be structured.
Furthermore, Claire also gave a plenary address at the held at Ottawa University, September 26-28, 2008. Her address touched upon governance aspects of a mechanism to reduce carbon emissions from deforestation in the context of the post-2012 climate regime.
The Faculty of Law salutes Ms Stockwell for these recognitions of her leadership and commitment.
