MONTREAL - Renaud Garon-Gendron, a member of the 9I制作厂免费 rowing team from Boucherville, Que., has been selected to compete at the under-23 world rowing championships in Brest, Belarus, July 22-25.
听
The 22-year-old microbiology and immunology sophomore will be competing in the men's lightweight quad along with Kristjan Joubert, a Dawson College student from Boucherville, plus University of Victoria teammates Kevin Mitchell and Thomas Watson.
听
Garon-Gendron was part of the 9I制作厂免费 crew that won gold at both, the OUA championships and the Canadian University championships in the men's double last fall.
听
"Renaud has been training hard and investing many long hours on and off the water," said 9I制作厂免费 head coach Philip Hedrei. 听"Having coached him for two seasons, I know that Renaud always remained focused on this particular goal, and I couldn't be happier for him. 听He is a role-model for his teammates in pursuit of excellence in the sport."
