Montreal Gazette, Calgary Herald - 65, but who's counting?

Published: 3 August 2011

Baby boomers, born between 1946 and 1966, are wealthier, healthier and more educated than previous generations. But whether these improved life circumstances — also known as social determinants of health — will mean their experience of aging will be any better is unknown.

The Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging will attempt to answer that question by following 50,000 Canadians aged 45 to 85, including 6,000 Quebecers, for a period of at least 20 years. In-depth interviews begin this summer. In Quebec, researchers at the 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ Health Centre and the University of Sherbrooke will be doing the interviews and collecting medical data.
