It was the 62nd consecutive overall win for the Martlets against CIS opponents, just five shy of the CIS record held by the Alberta Pandas.

Martlets rookie goaltender Taylor Salisbury made 23 saves to earn the shutout.

Ton-That opened the scoring with a first period power play goal at 7:37 after St.FX rearguard Jenna Downey was called for tripping.

The Martlets shook of the jet lag in the final period, outshooting St. FX 20-3 but were thrwarted on numerous scoring opportunities by Harvieux, who finally was beaten at 8:22 by Amy Soberano who jumped on a loose puck and fired it above Harvieux's shoulder to make it 4-0.
