Celebrating Excellence: Schulich Alumni and Faculty Honoured at 2025 Prix Opus and Grammy Awards

On Sunday, February 2, 2025, the 28th Annual Prix Opus and 67th Grammy Awards were held. Congratulations to all the nominees!

The Prix Opus was created in 1996 by the Conseil québécois de la musique (CQM) to highlight the excellence, vitality, and diversity of Québec’s thriving music scene and to celebrate artists within the community. The awards highlight outstanding achievements in concert music, compositions, productions, and recordings.

The 9I�� Libraries are delighted to announce that two colleagues, Dean Guylaine Beaudry and staff member Anne-Marie Fournier, were awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal in December 2024. The honour highlights the exceptional contributions of Canadians, many of whom work behind the scenes, making a significant impact on their community, their province, and sometimes even at the national and international levels.

Mia-Lin Gromko wins the Governor General’s Silver Medal

Mia-Lin Gromko, a Schulich School of Music student who is graduating from her undergraduate degree this year, is the winner of the prestigious Governor General’s Academic Silver Medal. She is the first-ever Schulich student to earn this recognition at 9I��.

Susanne Lajoie at the National Assembly as New Member of l'Ordre de l'excellence en éducation

Dr. Eve J. Lee awarded 2022 Vainu Bappu Gold Medal

Professor Eve Lee of the 9I�� Department of Physics and the Trottier Space Institute has been awarded the 2022 Vainu Bappu Gold Medal by the Astronomical Society of India. This medal is awarded once every two years to honour exceptional contributions to Astronomy & Astrophysics by young scientists anywhere in the world.

Karine Auclair receives 2023 Clara Benson Award

Karine Auclair, professor in the Department of Chemistry, is the 2023 recipient for the Clara Benson Award from the Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC).

Sponsored by the Canadian Council of University Chemistry Chairs (CCUCC), the Clara Benson Award is presented to recognize a woman who has made a distinguished contribution to chemistry while working in Canada.
