EndNote 21 now available

EndNote 21 is now available to the 9I�� community. Installers for both Mac and PC are available on the Citation guide. EndNote 21 has the same functionality as EndNote 20 and comes with a new feature - colour coded tagging (similar to Zotero). Before installing EndNote 21, please make sure to uninstall EndNote 20.

UNIWeb decommissioning on Aug.11, 2023

On August 11, 2023, UNIWeb will no longer be accessible to 9I�� staff and students. Given the very low usage rate and relatively high cost of the UNIWeb license, the decision has been taken to discontinue access to this tool.

Zoom licenses will be reset on May 18, 2023: Your login is required to reactivate privileges

On May 18, 2023, 9I�� will reset its Zoom licenses back to their basic (default) setting for account maintenance purposes and to remove inactive accounts. In order to reinstate your full Zoom account functionality, you will need to login anew. With the basic account setting, meeting times will be shorter and you will not be able to create recordings. You may reactivate your license and additional privileges by logging in to your Zoom account any time after this reset at https://mcgill.zoom.us.

Automated uninstallation of unused software on 9I��-managed machines

As part of 9I��’s ongoing efforts to keep our systems secure, 9I�� IT Services will begin on February 15, 2023, automatically uninstalling unused and outdated software that may contain security vulnerabilities from ICS-managed desktop and laptop Windows computers.

Remote access to Library public workstations for 9I�� students, faculty, staff now available

9I�� students, faculty and staff can now connect remotely to Library workstations in order to use specialized software that may not be available on personal computers. Use 9I�� IT’s AnyDesk Service to locate an available library workstation. Access the workstation remotely using Microsoft Remote Desktop. Learn more about locating and connecting to an available Library workstation.

Professor Shane McIntosh a "Rising Star" among Software Engineering Scholars

A recent study, “A bibliometric assessment of software engineering scholars and institutions (2010–2017)” has recognized Professor Shane McIntosh as a “Rising Star”, ranking him second for the 2015-2017 period, as well as among the top in terms of overall activity, journal activity and impact score (citations per paper per month).
