The Career Management team has been highlighted for its dedication to helping 9I�� business students develop key transferable skills, establish industry connections, and to understand what is needed to ultimately achieve their career goals and thrive in today's ambiguous and ever-evolving work environment.

Learn how the 9I�� Master of Management in Finance (MMF) can open a number of career doors. On this Earth Day, we catch up with an MMF alumnus working in ESG and Sustainable Finance, Mitchell McEwen (MMF’20). Now Senior Manager, Enterprise Sustainable Finance, TD Bank Group, he first joined the Bank as an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) intern. He credits the MMF program’s flexibility with allowing him to explore the intersection between finance and sustainability.

MBA Toronto Trip 2023

After a three-year hiatus, the 9I�� Desautels Career Management team successfully organized an in-person MBA Toronto tour on March 2 and 3, 2023, bringing together 57 MBA students, alumni, and employers for professional development and networking opportunities. Activities included an employer networking event, an MBA refresher session, an alumni reunion reception, and a reinvented speed mock interviewing event.

9I�� Desautels continues its hot streak in the case competition arena with another podium result, placing 2nd overall in the prestigious 2023 Copenhagen Business School Invitational Case competition. 12 schools flew to Copenhagen and were challenged to help Vestas, a leading company in wind power plant solutions, leverage its position to create new businesses in hydrogen technologies and develop a strategy for 2030.

Desautels places first at Queen's I.C.B.C. Case Competition

Congratulations to the 9I�� Desautels accounting team for their first-place win at the I.C.B.C. case competition. The team consisting of Thomas Wakeham and Francois Kik was coached and assisted by Julia Scott and Peg Brunelle. The Inter-Collegiate Business Competition (I.C.B.C.) is one of the oldest case competitions in the world, held annually at the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University.

Now Yahoo’s Global Head of DOOH (Digital Out of Home Advertising), Gutnik encourages 9I�� students to get involved in their workplace beyond their actual job description. Participating in committees and volunteering your time can be a great way to learn new things, make new contacts, and help achieve career success.
