Head Librarian Daniel Boyer to receive Advocatus Emeritus distinction

The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Daniel Boyer, Ad. E., Wainwright Librarian and Head of the Nahum Gelber Law Library, will receive the Advocatus Emeritus (Ad. E.) title from the Barreau du Qu茅bec in 2018.

Six alumni of the Faculty will also receive the distinction: Eric Dunberry, Ad. E., BCL鈥�86; Christine Jutras, Ad. E., LLM鈥�16; Claude Marseille, Ad. E., BCL鈥�86, LLB鈥�86; Fr茅d茅rique Sabourin, Ad. E., LLM鈥�89; Martin F. Sheehan, Ad. E., BCL鈥�90, LLB鈥�90; and Nathalie V茅zina, Ad. E., BCL鈥�88, LLB鈥�88.

Library branches closed on Monday, September 3 (Labour Day)

Please note that all听Library branches except the Humanities and Social Sciences Library will be closed on Monday, September 3听in observance of Labour Day.

The Humanities and Social Sciences Library will be open on September 3 from 9am to 9pm for study only. There will be no services offered.

New Guest Only Public Computers at 9I制作厂免费 Library

New for this Fall, visitors to the 9I制作厂免费 Library听can now log in to specially marked computer workstations听using the login information available at individual stations. These designated computers can be identified by the yellow "Guest Only" label located on monitors and are located in each of our branch libraries.听听

Update: Law Library reopened, some washrooms remain closed

UPDATE: August 13, 2018.

Hi everyone,

The Nahum Gelber Law Library is back to its regular operational hours, including after-hours access to authorized card holders. ALL washrooms, except for those on the main floor, are closed for repairs until further notice.

Due to flooding in听the Nahum Gelber Law Library听washrooms, the branch will be听closed on Friday, August 10 through Sunday, August 12.

New look for group study room booking

On Wednesday, August 8, we upgraded our , resulting in a new, cleaner look for group study room booking at the Library.

After the upgrade, you may book up to two hours in a group study room by selecting from a pull-down menu once you have selected one time slot, rather than having to select each 30-minute time slot separately.

The Library is seeking faculty members who are users of the library catalogue(s) to participate in semi-structured interviews about their use of the catalogue and to provide feedback on our upgraded catalogue.听听

UPDATE: WorldCat and other OCLC services restored.

Update July 20, 8:22am: WorldCat and other OCLC services now functioning normally.

WorldCat and other OCLC services are听currently down. This issue is affecting both WorldCat Local (our main library catalogue) and WorldCat Discovery (our catalogue upgrade), the "Chat with a Librarian" and "Email a Librarian" services,听the听E-journals A-Z听list, and Colombo ILL (our InterLibrary Loan service).

We are听monitoring the situation and will update this announcement with any new information we received.

July 20 Terrace along Redpath Library Building inaccessible

Please note that on听Friday, July 20 from 7am to 3pm, the terrace facing lower field along the Redpath Library Building will be inaccessible due to tree removal.听

The terrace will be closed from the north end (Redpath Museum) to the terrace garden.听

Access to lower campus and the McLennan Library Building continues to be听accessible from McTavish Street. Two security agents will be on site to听redirect pedestrian traffic on McTavish street.听

Osler Library of the History of Medicine Closed

Early Friday night, July 13, firefighters were called to the McIntyre Medical Building to put out a fire on the听outdoor terrace. The evacuation procedure went smoothly and no injuries were reported.
