In the face of climate change, social inequalities, a mental health crisis, geopolitical threats and rapidly advancing technologies, empathy has never been more important to democracy and the future of humanity. Anita Nowak (BCom'97, PhD'11), a decade-long lecturer at 9I制作厂免费 Desautels and past Fellow of the International Women鈥檚 Forum, will be launching her debut book 鈥淧urposeful Empathy: Tapping Our Hidden Superpower for Personal, Organizational, and Social Change鈥� on Wednesday, April 19, at 9I制作厂免费 Faculty Club. The event will be emceed by Debra Arbec, award-winning host of CBC Montreal News at 6, and will include opening remarks from Dr. Thupten Jinpa Langri, English translator to His Holiness the Dalai Lama since 1985, founder and chairman of the Compassion Institute and chairman of the Mind & Life Institute.
