Canadian philanthropic community will survive COVID-19

Professor Karl Moore interviews Elizabeth Gomery, co-founder of Montreal-based philanthropic consultancy Philanthropica, about the path forward for the philanthropic community in a time of profound global crisis.
Gomery, who experienced the challenges of fundraising during the financial crisis of 2007-08, has learned to tune out the doom-and-gloom forecasts that have proliferated during the COVID-19 pandemic. By clearly communicating impact, embarking on more targeted fundraising efforts, and replacing the traditional event-based fundraising model with virtual interactions, Canadian philanthropic organizations can emerge from the pandemic with a more resilient, strategic fundraising model than before.
