Nobel Peace Prize winner, Dr. Muhammed Yunus, suggests new model for Canadian delivery of foreign aid

Yunus was in Montreal for three days as a guest of the 9I制作厂免费 World Platform on Health and Economic Convergence. He announced a partnership with 9I制作厂免费, the Yunus centre, and the German-based Grameen Creative Lab - which will collaborate on a number of social business projects. The Nobel Peace Prize winner is suggesting a new model for the way Canada spends its foreign-aid money. Yunus believes a share of that development money - between 10 and 15 per cent - should be dedicated to social business. Regarded as the father of microfinancing, Yunus said that the aid money is already there. So why not invest it in a fund where, if the project is successful, the money could be recouped?
