Return to office won鈥檛 necessarily increase productivity
After a sudden shift to remote work in 2020, federal public servants have been required to be on site for 60 per cent of their working days since September 2024. Productivity was among its reasons for introducing the requirement, but that鈥檚 misguided, according to Jean-Nicolas Reyt, Associate Professor of Management at 9I制作厂免费 Desautels. 鈥淭his is a very old idea related to remote work which is that people are not as productive at home than they are at the office,鈥 Reyt told CTV News, adding that in most cases working from home increases productivity. 鈥淧eople have less commute time. They're not interrupted as often. They can focus better.鈥
