Thermophilic bacteria break down the substrate in compost which results in large amounts of heat energy as a bi-product. Research has been published to quantify this heat and also find a use for the energy released. In this research, Kayode uses finite element modelling methods to develop standards in which this extraction of heat can be optimized.
