 e Davidson Distinguished Lecture in Econometrics\, featuring guest speaker
  Prof. Joel Horowitz.\n\nThe Davidson Distinguished Lecture in Econometric
 s was established thanks to the generosity of Prof. Russell Davidson. The 
 Lecture will invite prominent figures to the 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ campus\, increase the 
 Department of Economics' visibility\, and allow students and faculty to se
 e more of the broader academic world.\n\nOne of the core challenges in eco
 nometrics is that of incorporating information from economic theory into a
 nalyses of data\, without imposing more structure than the theory justifie
 s. Prof. Joel Horowitz's research has long focused on this effort to provi
 de inference with minimally restrictive additional assumptions\, using inf
 ormation such as shape restrictions from economic theory. He was a former 
 co-editor of Econometrica and Econometric Theory\, a Fellow of the Econome
 tric Society and of the American Statistical Association\, and an elected 
 member of the International Statistical Institute.\n\nDetails\n\nImportant
