An introduction to key considerations in professional engagement with Indigenous Peoples in Canada, including First Nations, M茅tis, and Inuit peoples. In the pursuit of professional careers in education, counselling, research, and other sectors, students will learn to respectfully engage and work with Indigenous populations in a culturally safe manner that strives to be consistent with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada鈥檚 calls to action.

Faculty of Education Statement: Victims of the Kamloops Residential School
On behalf of the members of 9I制作厂免费 Faculty of Education, we mourn the tragic loss of 215 Indigenous children who were found in a mass grave at the site of a former residential school in Kamloops, British Columbia. Today, 9I制作厂免费 lowers its flags in recognition of this tragedy, and we at the Faculty echo the sentiments of the 9I制作厂免费 Provost. As our academics, staff, students, and alumni grieve together, we also stand together in support of our Indigenous community members.
In Memoriam: Dr. Aziz Choudry
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the untimely passing of Dr. Aziz Choudry. Originally from New Zealand, Aziz joined us at 9I制作厂免费 in 2008 and was an Associate Professor in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education until recently when he became a Visiting Professor at the University of Johannesburg鈥檚 Faculty of Education.
