Biography: 

Julie Wendel is a PhD student in the Department of English at 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ. Her doctoral dissertation, supervised by Professor Allan Hepburn, explores portrayals of refugees in twentieth-century fiction and reportage. Her previous research has engaged questions of memory and forgetting in refugee writing, most recently in her MPhil dissertation on the ethics of postwar memory in Vietnamese American refugee memoirs and graphic memoirs.
