Abstract

Gene regulatory networks (GRNs) are fundamental to understanding cellular processes and human disease. From a mathematical perspective, inferring GRNs presents a challenging inverse problem. Recent advancements in single-cell and spatial multi-omics technologies offer unprecedented opportunities to unravel the complexities of these networks. This talk will present recent computational methods developed by our group to address the unique challenges of GRN inference from these rich, high-dimensional, multi-modalities datasets.

Speaker Bio

Zhana Duren, Ph.D, is an Associate Professor of Medical and Molecular Genetics at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Duren鈥檚 research focuses on development of computational methods and bioinformatics tools for integration of multi-omics and gene regulatory networks. The long-term research goal is to answer the key scientific question鈥 How non-coding genetic variant act through context specific gene regulatory network to influence phenotype鈥.
