Mission Statement

To provide First Nations, Inuit andÌýMétis students attending 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ with a "home away from home", where they can find support and encouragement to succeed in their studiesÌýand remain connected to their culture.

Our ObjectivesÌý

1. To help increase the admission and retention rates of Indigenous students studying at 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ.
2. To promote and increase the accessibility of Student Services at 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ to Indigenous students.
3. To meet the concerns of Indigenous communities which include educational programming and policies which are culturally relevant to Indigenous peoples.
4. To raise awareness within the 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ community regarding the past, present, and future aspirations of Indigenous peoples through the promotion of activities that encourage interactions between Indigenous and 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ students and staff.
5. To collaborate and engage with the 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ, local and national First Nations, Inuit andÌýMétis communities to support Indigenous student issues.
6. To ensure and enhance the continuity and prosperity of First Peoples’ House services.
