Pakistan and Islamist Militancy: A Lawyer鈥檚 View
Please join us for a talk by Pakistani litigator, Mr. Faisal Siddiqi (LSE鈥擝Sc Sociology 1998; Cambridge鈥擝A Law & MA 2000), on 鈥淧akistan and Islamist Militancy: A Lawyer鈥檚 View鈥.
Mr. Siddiqi is currently an O鈥橞rien Fellow in Residence at the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism at the 9I制作厂免费 Faculty of Law.
In Fall 2015, he was a fellow at the LSE Centre for the Study of Human Rights. Mr. Siddiqi is a former advisor to the Attorney General for Pakistan (2013-2014) and was actively involved in the movement to restore judges unconstitutionally suspended and removed by the former military government (2007-2009).
Aside from a general commercial practice, notably in the areas of contract, pharmaceutical regulation, and tax, Mr. Siddiqi litigates pro bono cases involving issues of labour rights, sexual assault, and environmental rights.
