Matthew and Peter will discuss their work with emerging startups and modern businesses. They will also speak to the opportunities and challenges of running a new kind of legal firm that upends the traditional business model in the legal world. Lunch will be provided.
About the speakers
Matthew Castel is the co-founder and co-Managing Partner at Orion Legal Group. Prior to this, he held various product and legal advisory roles at high growth emerging technology companies (Clio, Fiix). He was also part of the intellectual property and commercial litigation groups at Fasken Martineau and Davis Polk. Matthew鈥檚 research has been cited by the Supreme Court of Canada, featured in several respected academic journals as well as lectures at leading Canadian Universities and Organizations.
Peter Mantas is the co-founder and co-Managing Partner at Orion Legal Group. Prior to the firm鈥檚 founding, Peter held senior product managerial roles at Wolters Kluwer within their legal research group and Proofpoint, a large eDiscovery and archiving provider for enterprise legal departments looking to streamline discovery processes. Peter was also part of the capital markets, alternative investments and tax groups at McCarthy Tetrault LLP.
