 fully convicted of a murder and rape in 1969 and spent almost 23 years in 
 jail\, and Peter Edwards\, the Toronto Star reporter who covered the Milga
 ard case almost from the start. Together\, they will be telling their stor
 ies. Peter Edwards\, who co-wrote Joyce Milgaard's memoir\, A Mother's Sto
 ry: The Fight to Free my son David\, will also discuss wrongful conviction
 s in Canada from a reporter's perspective.   There will be a Q & A session
  after David and Peter's talks. A cocktail reception will follow in the At
 rium.  This event is open to the public\, but we request that people wishi

 31\, 2013.  About David Milgaard  In 1970\, 16-year-old David Milgaard was
  sentenced to  life imprisonment for the 1969 murder of 20-year-old Saskat
 oon nursing  aide Gail Miller. After 23 years in prison\, the Supreme Cour
 t of Canada  set aside his conviction. Five years later he was cleared by 
 DNA  evidence and awarded $10 million. In the same year\, Larry Fisher was
   found guilty of the rape and stabbing death of Gail Miller.   CBC News I

 The project's mandate is to operate as a non-profit legal clinic which    
 focuses on researching and investigating claims of wrongful conviction  wi
 thin   the province of Quebec. The project is run under the  supervision o
 f an   advisory board composed of leading   Canadian  criminal lawyers.
