Formulas of聽Szeg脜鈥� type for the periodic Schr枚dinger operator.
In the聽1980's聽H.J. Landau and H. Widom proved trace asymptotics for truncated Wiener-Hopf operators with piecewise continuous聽symbol, as the truncation parameter聽grows.聽We present聽an asymptotic trace formula for聽the聽periodic Schr枚dinger operator in dimension one, which may be seen as an extension of Landau and Widom's results.聽The subleading order of the asymptotics identifies the spectrum of the periodic Schr枚dinger operator. This is joint work with Alexander V. Sobolev.聽聽
