This week, Wissam Ghantous will talk to us about :
听
Have you ever wondered what all the hype was about quantum computers? How do they "break cryptography"? Or what even is cryptography?
I will start with the beginnings of cryptography, and we will end up talking about modern aspects of it. Some included topics are: basic codes, elliptic curves, and Shor's algorithm (i.e., the end of RSA).
Warning: This talk may contain number theory, so be ready to hear words like "group", "modulo", and "gcd".
