The talks will highlight the latest advances and discoveries in neuropsychology\, co gnitive neuroscience\, and neuroimaging.\n\nSpeakers will include scientis ts from across The Neuro\, as well as colleagues and collaborators locally and from around the world. The series is intended to provide a virtual fo rum for scientists and trainees to continue to foster interdisciplinary ex changes on the mechanisms\, diagnosis and treatment of brain and cognitive disorders.\n\n\nRegister for In-Person\n\nTo watch online\, click here\n \nHost: Alan Evans \n\n\nCognitive and Brain Health in Transdiagnostic Psy chiatry\n\nAbstract: Cognitive deficits are experienced by many individual s with psychiatric disorders\, regardless of diagnosis\, and significantly impact daily life. Poor cognitive health\, driven by brain abnormalities\ , contributes to clinical symptoms and impaired functioning. Katie Lavigne 's research utilizes digital technologies and advanced brain imaging techn iques to better understand and promote cognitive and brain health in indiv iduals with mental illness. Her team (1) develops new open tools to improv e the measurement of cognition and applies these tools to (2) examine how cognition fluctuates over time in relation to symptoms and environmental f actors\, and (3) identify the brain mechanisms underlying cognitive dysfun ction in mental illness. This research aims to advance the understanding o f cognitive dysfunction in psychiatric disorders and provide insights into the strong links between cognitive deficits\, brain alterations\, and fun ctioning.\n\nKatie Lavigne\n\nAssistant Professor\, Department of Psychiat ry\, 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ\; Researcher\, Douglas Research Centre\n\n\n\nKatie Lavigne is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at McGi ll University and a Researcher at the Douglas Research Centre\, where she also leads the Douglas Open Science Program. She received a PhD in Neurosc ience in 2018 from the University of British Columbia and completed a post doctoral fellowship at the Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital and th e Douglas Research Centre in 2023. Her research focuses on the nature and mechanisms of cognitive dysfunction in psychiatric disorders\, using techn iques such as ecological momentary assessment and multimodal magnetic reso nance imaging. Her group also develops new tools to improve cognitive asse ssment\, and makes these openly available to the research community.\n DTSTART:20250407T170000Z DTEND:20250407T180000Z LOCATION:De Grandpre Communications Centre\, The Neuro SUMMARY:Feindel Brain and Mind Seminar Series: Cognitive and Brain Health i n Transdiagnostic Psychiatry URL:/neuro/channels/event/feindel-brain-and-mind-semin ar-series-cognitive-and-brain-health-transdiagnostic-psychiatry-364299 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
