Karen Armstrong: "In the beginning..."
At a time when it seems every second headline reflects a religious subtext and interest in the origins of religious beliefs and traditions has never been higher, 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ welcomes religious scholar and prolific author Karen Armstrong.
Ms. Armstrong's public lecture, "The Great Transformation — The Beginnings of Our Religious Tradition," based on her most recent book of the same title, will be held Thursday, April 27, at 6:00 pm, in the Leacock Building, 855 Sherbrooke Street West, in room 232.
The lecture is sponsored by the Faculty of Religious Studies and the 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ Bookstore. Ms. Armstrong's books include Muhammed: A Biography of the Prophet, A Short History of Myth and The Battle for God. Following her talk, she will answer questions from the audience.
