We look forward to welcoming Dr Ariel Dempsey as a plenary speaker at the 2024 . Dr Dempsey earned her MD at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and is at University of Oxford completing a PhD in Science & Religion. In her plenary entitled, "The Sage, the Dancer, and the Fool: Palliating Uncertainty" she will emphasize an approach to uncertainty that is modelled after palliative care and draws on tools from the philosophy of pragmatism. Behind her talk is the experience of living with the uncertainty of a life-threatening diagnosis herself. In her TEDxTalk "Live Like You鈥檙e Dying?: Acting in Uncertainty鈥� she shares her story.
