Dr. Samir Shaheen-Hussain鈥檚 book 鈥淔ighting for a Hand to Hold鈥, was reviewed by Margo Greenwood in an article entitled "An open invitation to address anti-Indigenous systemic racism" in the 鈥楶erspectives鈥 section of the prestigious medical journal聽.
Dr. Shaheen-Hussain鈥檚 book describes the colonial systems underlying the longstanding practice of medical evacuations without parental accompaniment of Indigenous children in Quebec鈥 a practice that his advocacy efforts helped to finally change.
