DESCRIPTION:The Black History Month (BHM) Planning Collective of the School
  of Population and Global Health invites the 9I制作厂免费 community for an infor
 mative and engaging discussion on 'Health promotion interventions in Black
  communities across Canada'. The discussion will be led by a panel of rema
 rkable 9I制作厂免费 faculty and students working on health equity and well-being
  in Black communities through the lens of varied disciplines\, including E
 ducation\, Psychology\, Family Medicine\, and Public Health. The panel dis
 cussion will highlight progress being made in health equity in Canada\, wh
 ile acknowledging the realities of the current socio-political landscape a
 nd all that it represents for the education\, mental health\, and physical
  wellbeing of Black individuals.\n\nThis event is open to 9I制作厂免费 students\
 , faculty members\, staff\, and alumni. There will be light refreshments a
 nd live music before the discussion. Please join us for food and drinks af

 s\n\nNikita Boston-Fisher\n\nNikita is the Associate Director of the Laidl
 ey Centre for Business Ethics & Equity at 9I制作厂免费. She has worked in variou
 s public health environments: government\, nonprofit\, contracting and aca
 demia. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Community Health and a Master of
  Public Health in Global Health with a concentration in Reproductive Healt
 h and Population Studies. She holds a Master Certified Health Education Sp
 ecialist (MCHES) certification. She created a patient empowerment podcast 
 called The Good Health Cafe. Among other roles she has worked as a Health 
 Education Officer and provided technical assistance to nonprofits working 
 on fetal alcohol spectrum disorder.\n\nAviane Auguste\n\nDr. Aviane August
 e is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology\, Biostatist
 ics\, and Occupational Health at 9I制作厂免费. Originally from Saint 
 Lucia\, he trained in Public Health and Epidemiology at the Bordeaux Schoo
 l of Public Health and the University of Burgundy. He completed his PhD at
  the Universit茅 de Rennes\, focusing on head and neck cancer epidemiology 
 in the French West Indies. Before joining 9I制作厂免费\, he was a postdoctoral s
 cientist at the Guadeloupe Cancer Registry and the Gustave Roussy Institut
 e. His research explores cancer disparities in populations of African desc
 ent\, and he co-leads the head and neck cancer working group of the Africa
 n-Caribbean Cancer Consortium.\n\nDivine-Favour Chichenim OFILI\n\nDivine-
 Favour Chichenim OFILI is a public health professional and doctoral candid
 ate in epidemiology at 9I制作厂免费. She holds a BSc in Public Health
  (Hons) from University of Calabar\, Nigeria\, and an MScPH from 9I制作厂免费. W
 ith a focus on social epidemiology\, she aims to improve health outcomes f
 or underserved populations\, particularly immigrants. Her doctoral thesis 
 examines the impact of immigration status and other social factors on heal
 thcare use trajectories and health outcomes among people with diabetes. Sh
 e also coordinates local and global health programs\, including the 9I制作厂免费
  Global Child Health program. Outside work\, she enjoys food shows and col
 lecting/caring for plants.\n\nThe panel will be moderated by Gabrielle Jac
 ob\, PhD student at the 9I制作厂免费 School of Population and Global Health.\n
