Économie (Arts) : A survey of the role of government in the economy (excluding the macroeconomic side - stabilization, etc.). Topics include markets and market failure, public goods, externalities, the theory of the second-best and the study of collective choice, including voting; and the collection of revenue to finance government activity, including optimal taxation of commodities and income.

- Students must register for both ECON 622D1 and ECON 622D2
- No credit will be given for this course unless both ECON 622D1 and ECON 622D2 are successfully completed in consecutive terms
- ECON 622D1 and ECON 622D2 together are equivalent to ECON 622
