Ce programme est offert par le Département de psychopédagogie et psychologie du counseling par l'intermédiaire du Bureau de formation des maîtres autochtones.
Ce programme de 30 unités est conçu pour donner aux conseillers des écoles autochtones une formation qui leur permettra de découvrir les principes et la pratique des services personnels tels qu'ils sont appliqués dans le milieu de l'éducation; de perfectionner leurs habiletés personnelles et de modifier ou d'adapter leurs services et leur contenu pour mieux tenir compte des besoins culturels et éducatifs des étudiants autochtones; de les encourager à faire preuve de leadership dans l'élaboration de programmes éducatifs qui répondent aux besoins sociaux de leurs communautés; de les aider à remettre à niveau leurs connaissances universitaires et à se perfectionner sur le plan professionnel; et d'élaborer et de diffuser, en anglais et dans la langue d'enseignement, les connaissances professionnelles et théoriques sur les besoins et les services requis par les étudiants dans les communautés des autochtones.
Les titulaires de ce certificat pourront exercer à titre de conseillers scolaires et pédagogiques au sein des organismes d'éducation autochtones.
EDPC Psychopédagogie et psychologie du counseling (counseling) : Introduction to student advising and guidance including personal, vocational, and educational aspects of services normally found in Aboriginal school settings. Role of the student personnel advisor at both the elementary and secondary levels.

EDPC Psychopédagogie et psychologie du counseling (counseling) : Adolescent sexuality and concurrent problems, substance addictions, physical abuse and violence, and suicide within the milieu of the native family, with a review of possible basic interventions for remediation. The roles of teachers, counsellors, social workers, physicians and legal authorities.

EDPC Psychopédagogie et psychologie du counseling (counseling) : An extended practicum experience which commences at the beginning of formal academic training. On-going development of student personnel services training experience at the individual and group level, "progress file" and evaluation of performance over the course of training, organization and administration of student personnel services. This comprises site visits, workshops and seminars interwoven with the other courses.
