Overview

History : A survey of critical theory, focused particularly on methodological and theoretical questions pertinent to historical analysis. Thinkers to be read and discussed include Hegel, Marx, Nietzsche, Freud, Weber, Luk谩cs, the Frankfurt School, Althusser, Derrida, Deleuze, Foucault, Lacan, and their contemporary interpreters. Primary texts of major thinkers and secondary writings will be included.

Terms: This course is not scheduled for the 2020-2021 academic year.

  • Prerequisite(s): One 200-level HIST course or permission of instructor.
