Amed started his site in 2007聽as a blog about the fashion industry, but it has become one of the leading sources of news in the fashion world. The site raised a Series A funding round in 2015 from investors including聽Index Ventures, LVMH, Carmen Busquets, and Felix Capital.

There are two different kinds of acquisitions: 鈥榮cale acquisitions鈥� and 鈥榖olt-on acquisitions鈥�, and we tend to focus on the latter. We like to buy a technology and 鈥榩lug it in鈥�, because our sales force and distribution channel are second to none. The last six deals we鈥檝e done were all about technologies or products that we wanted to own. In these cases, some of the management team stays with us, but we鈥檙e really taking on a new product and adding it to our existing culture.
