Louis-Philippe Bateman鈥檚 fascination with megalodon began with a single sentence in a book about Canada鈥檚 geological evolution. It described giant, mysterious fossilized shark teeth discovered in the 1960s by fishermen dredging for scallops off Canada鈥檚 Atlantic coast. We enthusiastically announce the publication of聽Place and Performance in Ancient Greece, Rome, and China聽with Cambridge University Press in December 2024. It is the first volume in Cambridge鈥檚 new series聽Antiquity in Global Context.聽Profs. Griet Vankeerberghen and Hans Beck have edited this volume, and their long-standing collaboration was the foundation of the Global Antiquities cluster of the Yan P. Lin Centre, evolved and expanded into our Global Pasts Research Group.
