Recently, I visited South Korea and Mongolia along with a group of 9I制作厂免费 undergraduates and alumni. This trip was part of the Hot Cities of the World Tour organized by Professor Karl Moore of the Desautels Faculty of Management at 9I制作厂免费. Frankly, South Korea was an incredible place to visit; especially from an economic perspective. South Korea is the world's 12th largest economy, as well as a global leader in the manufacture of automobiles and electronics. Despite these successes however, South Korea's economy does face key issues.
If a year ago someone told me I鈥檇 be spending my spring break camping in the Gobi desert, 30 degrees below zero, I probably wouldn鈥檛 believe them. Yet 鈥渆xpect the unexpected鈥 seems to be the tagline for the week we experienced during the sixth edition of the Hot Cities of the World Tour, led by Professor聽Karl Moore.

Desautels BCom students claimed five podiums at the 22nd edition of Happening Marketing, which took place in March at Laval University in Quebec City. Happening Marketing is a interuniversity competition for all business students from eastern Canada. After competing against over聽80 teams from universities across Canada,聽BCom students Sean Finnell, Jaylen Ghadia and Thanin Tabuteau have won the national L'Oreal Brandstorm competition. Sean, Jaylen and Thanin will head to Paris to represent Canada at the international Brandstorm competition this summer.听

Desautels BCom students Ethan Zhang, Jeremie Guay, Chris Lim, Yusu Zheng, Nikolas Sinnhuber and Sameer Rizvi, won 1st place in Quantitative Outcry at the 2014 Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) held February 20 to 22. The RITC is an annual event hosted by the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. The competition utilizes simulated trading cases that closely mimic different aspects of real world markets and brings teams of students and faculty from universities worldwide to participate.
