Biography:

Claudia Kleinman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Human Genetics at 9I制作厂免费, an Investigator at the Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research, an Associate Member of the 9I制作厂免费 Centre for Translational Research in Cancer and co-Director of the Ludmer Centre for Neuroinformatics and Mental Health. She is a transdisciplinary researcher who applies the principles of molecular biology, computer science, statistics and evolutionary biology to study biological systems. Her research aims to advance our understanding of pediatric brain tumors by decrypting the fundamental mechanisms regulating gene expression, and their interplay with genetic and epigenetic factors. She was awarded the Bernard and Francine Dorval Prize for her work mapping the development of the human brain at the single cell level to define the origins of pediatric brain tumors. Her current projects continue to explore how complex genetic and epigenetic interactions lead to specific diseases.
