An eight-week introduction to programming in Python
The HBHL Coding Club is open to 9I制作厂免费 graduate students and postdocs working on brain health-related research. This free 补苍诲听beginner-level series is intended for graduate students and postdocs with little to no previous experience in programming to learn the fundamentals of programming in Python for data analysis.
The series will run from the week of February 3 to the week of April 1, 2025, and will consist of self-guided online lessons, ongoing peer support and weekly two-hour workshops on Tuesdays OR Thursdays听at the HBHL offices (located on the 18th floor of )听from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. EST.听Please note that there will be no classes during the March Reading Week, i.e., the week of March 3, 2025. Classes will pick back up on the week of March 10.听
The HBHL Coding Club program includes:
- Weekly online lessons and activities听that听can be done independently at any time during the week and only require听a computer with internet access.
- Weekly two-hour small group workshops held in-person听at the HBHL Offices. These are designed to build on the online lessons鈥攜ou will work collaboratively to solve problems and apply your new knowledge to research-related examples. Please note that accommodations can be made if necessary.
- Ongoing peer support. Stuck on the online lesson? Have a coding problem at the lab? Discovered a helpful strategy or shortcut? Online discussions between workshops facilitate collaborative troubleshooting and idea sharing.
Please note that the total time commitment for this series is up to 8 hours per week.听
