Course Lecturer: INFS 684 鈥 Information Security Management听

9I制作厂免费鈥檚 School of Information Studies Master鈥檚 program (/sis/home) is seeking a Course Lecturer to teach INFS 684 Information Security Management.

Responsibility: Teach an 8-week online course in cybersecurity. Prepare and improve online video recordings, quizzes, assignments, and virtual lab materials. Guide online discussions. Answer students鈥 questions. Guide students to complete assignments and projects. Grading.

Requirements:

Successful candidates should have

  • At least 2-year teaching experience in graduate-level courses
  • Excellent track record of hands-on experience in cybersecurity
  • A Doctoral degree or Postdoctoral in the relevant area.
  • Previous experience in creating and teaching cybersecurity course(s)
  • Prior online and in-person teaching experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Have passion to be a good teacher

Course description: This course will cover various topics of information security management within an organization, including how to manage and respond to information security threats, information security policy and governance, risk and vulnerability detection, threat readiness, investigation, recovery, privacy, and legislation.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of this course, the students will be able to

  • Explain the fundamental concepts of cybersecurity, such as threats, cryptography, and vulnerability.
  • Describe the types of cyber-attacks, how they are implemented, and propose commonly used security hardening techniques and controls.
  • Perform threat and risk assessments at the network system, operating system, and software application levels.
  • Assess the security readiness of an organization.
  • Manage cybersecurity incidents and how to communicate them to an organization.
  • Assess ethical concerns in terms of security, privacy, and information guidelines and policies within national and international contexts.

Masters and PhD students interested in RA opportunities should review research projects of interest on the SIS faculty pages and contact faculty members directly to express interest in working as an RA. Doctoral students should also mention interest to their supervisors. In addition, Graduate Assistant (GA) positions are occasionally recruited from the student body.
