On February 5, the Desautels Management Competition Committee took third place at the 14th annual Financial Open, the largest Finance and Accounting base case competition in Eastern Canada. The BCom students competed against their peers from 14 other universities, securing 4 podiums, including first in financial accounting and stock market simulation, good for third place overall. Students from the Copenhagen Business School took home the $25,000 first prize of the fifth annual 9I制作厂免费 International Portfolio Challenge (MIPC) this November. According to Professor Sebastien Betermier, who founded the student-organized competition and serves as MIPC鈥檚 faculty adviser, the Copenhagen team will have the unique opportunity to present their ideas on retirement reform to Dutch pension funds in 2022.

Professor Richard G. Donovan passed suddenly on August 3, 2019, but the legacy he left behind continues to this day. Through generous donor support, the $50,000 Richard G. Donovan Prize in Case Excellence is awarded to graduating students who have excelled in case competitions in their time at 9I制作厂免费. Five Master of Management in Finance (MMF) students are off to the regional round of CFA Institute鈥檚 Research Challenge, an annual global competition that provides students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis and professional ethics.
