Marking the sixth year of participating in the 2018 Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC), a team of Desautels鈥 students took 1st place in the MATLAB Options Volatility Case. The team consisted of BCom students Matei Popescu, Jasmine Chi, and Percy Ahn; Masters of Management in Finance students Zacharie LeBlanc and Joanie Grimard; and PhD candidate Chengyu Zhang.


Congratulations to Desautels MBA students Sandra Chang Urbina, Yen Nguyen, Shubhangi Shahi, and Fang Yang who secured second place at the final round of the Business for a Better World Case Competition.
The team was recognized for their proposed Higher Education Right (HER) Bonds, which would provide low cost loans to make it possible for low- and middle- income young women in India to access higher education.

The inaugural听9I制作厂免费 International Portfolio Challenge听(MIPC) welcomed 25 finalist student teams from leading institutions around the world, with some traveling from as far away as Australia, Hong Kong and Switzerland to pitch their proposals to a panel of judges from several of Canada鈥檚 largest asset managers.

This weekend, twenty-five student teams from Berkeley, Chicago, Sydney, Hong Kong, and Geneva, amongst others will participate in the final round of the 9I制作厂免费 International Portfolio Challenge.
Organized by Desautels BCom students under the guidance of Professor Sebastien Betermier, this is the world鈥檚 first pension asset allocation competition.

Congratulations to Desautels undergraduate students: Evan Coulter, Valentyn Litvin, Meagan Prins, and Marina Simonian who won the top prize at the prestigious PRMIA International Risk Management Challenge- marking a second consecutive victory for the Faculty at this competition.

The Desautels Faculty of Management was well represented at this year鈥檚 HEC Corporate Responsibility Challenge. Among the twelve competing teams, MBA students Taha Ataullah, Bernardo Pr么a Bressane, Hardeep Singh, and Karen Vanthuyne secured second place, while Angela Hernandez Castillo, Matt Jones, Akshay Kohli, and Margarita Komarova placed fifth.
The latter team was invited to present their case solution to the Board of Directors of ACEM Montreal Community Loan Fund in April.

The Desautels MBA case team composed of Catherine Du Pont, Jiawei Lin, Helena Rati, Karen Sidhu, Jessica Truong secured first place at the USC Marshall Global Case Competition, which was hosted at the Amazon Headquarters in Seattle, WA. Congratulations to all!

An undergraduate team from Desautels came home from a case competition in Portugal with an invite to go back for a month-long project aimed at making the city of Porto more attractive to startups. The prize is doubly sweet, as neither the team nor the officials saw it coming. Team member Aarushi Kumar says that 鈥淚t was not something we were expecting and it was not something the organizers were expecting to do, either.鈥

Congratulations to MBA students, Aman Arora, Timothy Lane, Santiago Monroy, and Jose Nunez Gutierrez, who were awarded second place in the Business for a Better World case competition. The team has been working since October on designing a global equity portfolio that advances the UN鈥檚 sustainable development goals, which culminated with a presentation in Davos, Switzerland on January 19th to a panel of high-profile judges.
Desautels MBA students Jorge Tatto, Deepti Kaul, and Christian Mathews-Gagne triumphed over 43 other teams from around the world to win 1st place at the 2016 MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference鈥檚 First Pitch Case Competition held on March 11 to 12. Taking second and third places were Cornell University and Old Dominion University, respectively.

BCom students Nicholas Bigelow, Ivan Di, Mak Dori膰, and Emily Ren have triumphed over 250 teams from across North America to win the 2014 National Investment Banking Competition (NIBC) held in Vancouver from January 7-9.
