Pricing and Deadlines

Important Information

  • April 24-April 30, 2025: Please note that听applications submitted during this period are being received. However, due to the close of 9I制作厂免费's fiscal year on April 30th, applications will not be approved or payments processed until May 1st. Applications submitted between April 24 and 30 will receive a response starting May 1st. Thank you for your understanding.
  • March 1, 2025: Registration deadline for听attendees wishing to travel to Montreal to participate in-person and who will be applying for a visa to travel to Canada. If you need a visa to enter Canada the Canadian government recommends applying 4鈥6 months in advance and no less than 12 weeks before the course begins. Those applying after March 1st should be aware it could be difficult to obtain one in time and the Summer Institute may suggest online enrolment. .听
  • May 2, 2025: Registration pricing increases by 10%.
  • Registration will close when the course is full, or seven days before the course is scheduled to begin.

Pricing

The 9I制作厂免费 Summer Institutes charge different amounts for low, middle, and high income country participants. We follow the for the country categories. You can look up your country on the World Bank website to determine what category you fit into. Note that both lower-middle and upper-middle are considered 鈥渕iddle-income countries鈥 for registration pricing.

Categories

  • Low-income country: Participants currently living and working or studying in a low-income country
  • Students: Participants who are students or trainees (including residents) from middle or high-income countries who are registered at a college or university.
  • Young professionals: Participants who have graduated from college or university in the last 2 years and are new to their professions.
  • Middle-income country: Currently living and working in a middle-income country (both lower- and upper-middle are in this category)
  • High-income country: All other participants from high-income countries.

Why are prices higher for those attending in person?

In-person attendees benefit from access to faculty members and live interaction with their peers. The higher pricing reflects our costs for coffee breaks, lunch (for full-day courses only), faculty travel and classroom rentals.

Registration Information

Important Notes:

  • Participants wishing to enrol in overlapping online courses are permitted to do so, but should be aware that if overlapping courses have live sessions (online) happening at the same time they may have to view some content later as a recording.
  • If you need a visa to enter Canada the Canadian government recommends applying at least 12 weeks before the course begins. Those applying after March 1st should be aware it could be difficult to obtain one in time, and the Summer Institute may suggest online enrolment.
Group registration:

Only groups of 10 people or more are eligible for group registration and payment by invoice. summerinstitute.med [at] mcgill.ca (subject: Interest%20in%20Group%20registration) (Contact us) first to discuss the proper registration procedure and receive instructions. We regret that we can not invoice for groups of less than 10 people.

Change or modify your registration:

Participants needing to change courses or any information you supplied during registration should summerinstitute.med [at] mcgill.ca (email us), and听we'd be happy to assist you.

Overall cancellation policy:

Participants unable to attend a 2025 9I制作厂免费 Summer Institutes course, after having paid their registration fees, must provide a written request to us summerinstitute.med [at] mcgill.ca (subject: Cancellation%20request) (via email) for their refund on or before May 15, 2025. The Organizers regret that requests received after this date will not be considered. Administrative charges for cancellations will be $25 CAD (plus tax) for all reasons.

Cancellation of an in-person course:

Please note that if the in-person course is cancelled, 听you will be given the choice to join the online version of the course and refunded the cost difference, or you will be refunded in full for the cost of the course if you do not want to enrol in the online course.

Travel costs are the responsibility of the participants. Due to the uncertainty of travel, we encourage you to verify with your travel provider about insurance coverage in case you have to change or cancel your travel plans. Any travel costs incurred by you due to course cancellation will not be reimbursed by the 9I制作厂免费 Summer Institutes.

General Fund Scholarships

Scholarship applications are rolling, and we encourage you to apply early as the funding is typically exhausted by late February. If there are still funds available,听March 31, 2025听is the last date we will consider applications.

  • Please complete this application prior听to applying for any courses in the 2025听9I制作厂免费 Summer Institutes in Global Health. We have a limited amount of funding and are only able to grant scholarships for registration fees.
  • We are not able to fund travel or lodging (for those courses that are in-person).
  • Scholarships are only available to participants 1) living and working or 2) studying, in a low- or middle-income country. We follow the for the country category.
  • Applications are evaluated on a rolling basis. Scholarships will be granted until the funding is exhausted or until there are no more candidates. You will receive a response from our office within 7 business days of applying for a scholarship.
  • The Summer Institutes are looking for scholarship applicants who have proven interest or experience in the topic related to the course they are applying for. We are also looking for applicants who have plans to continue working or studying that topic in the future.

Estimated Travel Costs

Costs to think about:

  • Transport to Montreal - Airfare from North America will typically cost under $1,000 CAD. Flights from outside North America are more, often exceeding $2,000 CAD depending on the departure location and booking time.听
  • Local transport 鈥 The suggested hotels are within walking distance from the Summer Institute venue. You will have to arrange transport from the airport/train station. A taxi from the airport is about $50 CAD each way.
  • Accommodation - Standard hotel rooms in Montreal can run anywhere from $120 to $250 CAD per night. Hotel rates are significantly higher during Grand Prix Weekend (June 13-15, 2025).
  • Meals - Breakfasts (if not offered by hotel) and dinners and meals during the weekend. You can easily eat in Montreal for $15 CAD at breakfast, $20 CAD for lunch and under $40 CAD for dinner, totalling听about $75 CAD per听day.
  • Tourism in Montreal 鈥 although we may help organize visits for Summer Institutes participants, entry fees, transport fees and other related fees are the responsibility of the participants.
